Officers Recover Stolen Car and Detain Juvenile
Fannin county deputy sheriffs recovered a Van Alstyne stolen car Tuesday at Savoy and took a 15 year old Van Alstyne boy into custody. Deputies Luther Smith and Leon Shastid returned the vehicle and youth to Bonham. The boy had previously been sent to the State School for Boys at Gatesville on two occasions.

First Bale Of Cotton Is Received In 1956
Fannin county reports its first bale of the 1956 cotton crop ginned at the Eo-Op Gin in Bonham on Wednesday afternoon. Evans Dale, Bonham Rt. 1, produced 1825 pounds of seed cotton from about six acres of Paymaster cotton planted mid April and harvested after two poisonings. Dale won a $100 prize from the Bonham Chamber of Commerce for the first bale. Johnny Maceab, 14, picked 159 pounds. The bale was moved through town to show the early yield, six days earlier than 1955’s first bale.
