In Tanktown two women Dolly Persons and Zenia Hardy clashed in a brutal fight. Persons suffered a severe head blow from a piece of iron while Hardy was bitten and disfigured. Deputy sheriffs brought them to court. both were bound over to appear next Monday and posted bond.
Miss Bertha Turner and J. W. Benton of Dallas County were united in marriage at the Union Mission yesterday with R. E. Medford officiating.
Washington reports that the Red Cross campaign total will greatly surpass the original one hundred million dollar target by Monday night if current giving trends continue. It is expected to top seventy million today. A separate ad promotes Mayr's Wonderful Remedy for stomach and digestive issues with claims of rapid relief and wide use, offered by J. W. Peeler.
The Sunbeam Band of the Second Baptist Church plans an ice cream supper at N. K. McCraw's store Saturday night to benefit Buckner's Orphan Home.

All who enlisted in the artillery and not employed are asked to report to Camp Blair in Dallas at the earliest convenient day for preliminary instructions. Board and quarters will be provided. On the McMillan farm near Chicota Paris Texas June 21 lightning struck a cabin where J A Haynes his wife and thirteen year old daughter were sheltering from rain. Mrs Haynes and the daughter died instantly. Mr Haynes was paralyzed for a time and remained unconscious for about thirty minutes before regaining consciousness and calling for help.
June 22 report notes the American flag over six base hospitals in the war zone, with American contingents replacing British medical crews and American women nurses filling roles formerly held by English nurses.
In St. Louis on June 22 three suspects are being questioned about the Keet baby kidnapping and murder. Claude Pierson is said to have made a full confession, though this cannot be confirmed at present.

L H Sheffield died at Allen Hospital about 8 this morning after an operation. His home was near Telephone. The body was taken there for burial today. He was fifty nine years old.

Grover Crawford of Memphis Tennessee married Miss Opal Crossland at high noon today at the home of the Misses Carlton. An extended notice will follow tomorrow due to the Red Cross service this afternoon and printing constraints.
Yesterday Ed Brent arrested Dan Johnson six miles from here on a charge of breaking into and stealing from a shipment over the Texas & Pacific railroad. Johnson faces an ae tml charge and may face federal court for tampering with interstate shipments.
