Fannin County Soldier Sidney Denton Dies in Vietnam Action
Sp-4 Sidney Edward Denton, 20, of Ector, Texas, was killed in action in Vietnam. He enlisted in 1964, trained at Fort Riley, and went to Vietnam during Christmas 1966. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his father A E Denton, his mother June Denton, a brother Gary Dewayne Denton, several half siblings, and grandparents. He was the second Fannin County resident to die in the war, following Bobby Corzine.
