Quail season extension sparks county protest
Texan sportsmen from Fannin County protest a proposed two week extension of the 1964 quail season. The plan, backed by wildlife officials, would open November 14 and run to January 3, drawing opposition from local clubs who invested in restocking and habitat improvement. The hearing recorded Tuesday will be reviewed by the Wildlife and Parks commission in July. The 1964 deer season runs November 14 to 24 with other game rules unchanged.
