First For Ravenna Flags On Veterans Graves
The Ravenna Community Improvement Club placed flags on veterans graves in two local cemeteries as the first organized effort in the county. Veterans from Civil War to World War II are buried there, with at least 14 identified within the cemeteries. The club bought flags via Avrey Jones of the county service officer and the Bonham American Legion post. They urge other rural communities to join Memorial Day and Veterans Day flag displays and to seek government markers for unmarked graves.
