Code of Road Ethics for Motorists Urged by Connecticut Official
New England authority urges a motorist code of ethics to improve manners and curb accidents. Commissioner Robbins R. Steckel warns drivers to show courtesy to pedestrians and fellow motorists, avoid abusing horns, keep headlights used properly, obey traffic officers, and remain calm. He cites common bad acts and insists polite driving prevents trouble and keeps roads safer. The bulletin calls drivers to “keep in the middle of the road” and to avoid weaving, with heavy vehicles staying to the right.
