Regrets Over Light Sentence For Child's Death
In Los Angeles Judge Fletcher Bowron sentenced Howard L. Colby to one to ten years in the state penitentiary for the death of his two year old son Grant Colby from an internal bath. The judge expressed regret the law cannot impose a harsher penalty. The prosecution argued the bath was punishment for a childish mishap using a hose attached to a water faucet.
