Burkett Says Filing Rule Right but Won’t Challenge Opponents
Joe Burkett, candidate for congressman at large in place three, says the attorney general ruling requiring candidates to file with the state chairman is correct. He notes he filed with State Chairman W. O. Huggins in Houston and believes he is likely the only compliant candidate, but will not prevent opponents from appearing on the ballot. He argues no technicality should bar voters from choosing their preferred candidate.
