Khrushchev Angers Adenauer With Unification Crack
Nikita Khrushchev declared Russia does not want Germany unified even if neutralized prompting a furious rebuke from Konrad Adenauer in Luxembourg. Adenauer plans to press the issue with Eisenhower and Dulles and discuss it with Soviet officials upon returning to Bonn. Khrushchev’s remarks follow Mollet’s stance on disarmament and unification amid Western friction.
