Bonham Alderman Seeks Tax Amendment for Public Schools
An ordinance proposes to amend the Bonham city charter to authorize the city council to collect ad valorem taxes for the public schools of the district. The measure sets a tax rate of eighty five cents per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. It directs the treasurer of the Board of School Trustees to collect and remit funds for school maintenance and other district needs.
