Edwin M. Paul 17 son of Katherine O. Paul of Dallas was valedictorian of the 1955 South Oak Cliff High School graduating class. He led National Honor Society ROTC captain Linz Pin winner Everts Award and track team member who delivered the afternoon prayer. He holds the Ascher Silberstein Scholarship and plans to study petroleum engineering at Rice or Texas.
In Hartford Connecticut Joseph Callahan dozed off watching TV and awoke to find $80 missing from his trousers. Police were notified of the apparent theft occurring during the program.

Two Austin women, Dora Seay Reeves and Ermie D Seay, sustained slight injuries when their car rear ended Grady DeLois Skeen’s vehicle at the Broad and West 12th street intersection. Skeen, from Sumner, Texas, was driving. officer notes both cars were damaged.
Fort Worth Democrats will honor House Speaker Sam Rayburn during his Fort Worth visit. Donald L. Allie of the Young Democratic Clubs of Tarrant County says Rayburn will sub for National Democratic Chairman Butler at a rally after Congress adjourns. A dinner is planned with Rayburn’s local and nearby supporters.

Lt Richard Bragg of the 66th Air Rescue Squadron based at Manston Airfield in England is cited by Lawrence Earl in The Saturday Evening Post June 4 issue. The article credits Bragg with evacuating 110 people from Nieuwe-Tonge, Holland, during the 1953 North Sea storm surge.
Four American airmen freed from Chinese prison camps anticipate a long awaited reunion with families at Hickam Field Hawaii. A nine relatives flight from Washington Philadelphia Omaha Travis AFB refueled near San Francisco will deliver the visitors for a five day visit. The airmen received new uniforms and passed medicals as they prepared for the family welcome and press conference.

The National Rivers and Harbors Congress closed a two day meeting with a call for increased funding for rivers and harbors work. It criticized current water resources policy as encouraging but said higher spending would better serve national welfare.

A bus carrying members of a church women's club overturned on a steep hill near Limburg. Police reported 19 passengers died and the remaining riders including the woman driver sustained serious injuries.
