Fannin Soldiers Witness Nevada Atomic Explosion
Raymond C. Jones of Leonard and Pfc. I B Magness of Bonham, with about 1 000 others of the 7011th Armored Infantry Battalion Combat Team, watched a dawn detonation at Camp Desert Rock Nevada from a foxhole within four miles. The blast lit the desert as they moved to assess equipment impact.
