Co host Mrs M J Smith assisted. guests included Lether Winkler Mae Epley Agnes Farris Sherry Abie Meadows Dorothy Moore Grace Robertson Tee Roberts and others with several guests sending regrets.
The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Miss Mary Mildred Lowrey to Curtis IL Pope of Commerce are announced by her mother Mrs Martha Carleton Lowrey of Bonham. The ceremony will be at Epiphany Episcopal Church Commerce on Sunday September 2 conducted by Reverend Clyde J. Miller.
Mrs W E Floyd announces the engagement of her daughter Miss Sherrill Floyd to John B. Mahler of Heidenheimer. The marriage is set for August 11 at the bride’s home in Honey Grove.

Hiwetoto Club members and guests from Honey Grove attended a Spend-the-day handcraft party hosted by Miss Sara Brotherton. They crafted Gaucho leather belts at the Boys Club of Paris, had fried chicken lunch in Wade Park, toured Metli home and the Century plant bloom, then visited Paris Junior College Fine Arts.
Mrs. Tommy Orme and children Kathy and Jan, of Bentonville Arkansas, reunite with husband and father Tommy Orme who is in town for repair work at the Kraft Food Plant. Avon Blankenship and Billy Logan couple plan a California vacation to see the Grand Canyon and Hollywood and will visit Dumas on return, while Cpl Bobby Batley of Lackland Air Force Base visits family in town with Mr and Mrs Allen Batley. A trend continues with Cpl Batley and Cpl Bill.
Joyce Murley and David A Simmons married July 1 in a single ring ceremony at Antioch Baptist Church. Rev Chester Bunch officiated as flowers adorned the altar and matrons of honor and best man attended. The couple resides in McKinney where he works, following a reception at the Simmons home.
The First Baptist Church of Bonham will join the Wichita Kansas Baptist encampment with Rev. Darold Morgan as camp pastor. The Boys Quartet Dan Kennedy Jr George Bostic Richard Crider and Thomas Stott will accompany him. Also traveling are Jones of Mulkeytown and Tb, stationed at Lackland, for the weekend. Mr and Mrs Jr M Daniel of Monday formerly of Bonham spend the weekend in Bonham. Mr Opal Martin and Ella Harrige return from Austin after attending the first Annual Institute of Cosmetology. Mr and Mrs RI Ditelmann depart for a vacation to his sister’s home in Winfield Kans.
Blaise Van Lear son of Mrs M M Van Lear visits his mother at 320 East 4th Street. A native of Bonham he is president of Georgia Tech but currently on leave from the university for special work with the federal government.
