The Lord's Acre committee of Ector Methodist church hosts an ice cream supper at the church Saturday starting at 5 pm offering sandwiches, ice cream, cake and tea to raise funds for the church building. The Bells WOW lodge advertises a domino tournament for Saturday July 25 with trophies and proceeds for the lodge building fund.
The United States urged the Soviet Union to join a nuclear missile and bomber freeze, but Soviet negotiator Semyon Tsarpkin snubbed the proposal at a brief Geneva disarmament conference session.
