Hauptmann faces defeat as state rejects Fisch link

William E. Frank, a government accountant, testified that the Hauptmanns’ assets grew to 44,486 after the ransom for Ray Charles Lindbergh disappeared. The state said it would block further attempts to connect Isador Fisch to the kidnapping murder or ransom collection. Kurtz, a New York prosecutor, claimed a diary showed Fisch and Fisch’s ally plotted together on the day of the crime. Hauptmann had claimed the 14,600 ransom money found in his garage was given to him for safekeeping by Fisch.

Isador Fisch Referred to as John on Transatlantic Crossing

Cernech, linked to the slayings of Granger officials, was recaptured in San Gabriel Park by Sheriff Louis One, Fulton, and Anderson. Lloyd Fulton and Gene Anderson were nabbed at Salado by Deputy R. O. Davis and Granger officers. E F Carter and Nathan Schiller remained at large. Will Palm aided in locking up Pickle and Palm after three bars were sawed. Three others nearby initially sought escape but refused.
