Two Bonham Men Receive Highest Scout Awards In 1977 Banquet
James Woodall of Bonham and Don Kissinger of Ivanhoe were honored at the Newo District Banquet held at the United Methodist Church for their roles as adult leaders to Fannin County Boy Scouts. Kissinger earned the Wood Badge and District Award of Merit. Woodall received the District Award of Merit. About 60 attendees and over 20 recognitions marked the event. Special praise went to scouters’ wives. Cub Packs earned Summers Time Awards. Troops and posts earned National Camping Awards. Den leaders received years of service honors. James Fitch and Jim Morgan spoke to the gathering.

Bride Killed In Icy Wedding Car Crash
Cynthua Annette Smith Sexton, 20, died when her wedding car overturned after sliding off an icy road near Apache Oklahoma. Her husband Stanley R. Seaton, 23, was critically injured with internal injuries and two broken legs. Police say the couple was being chased playfully by wedding guests on Oklahoma 19 when the crash occurred.
