Ted Lindsey recalls finishing a June pool project while a friend notes a large water amount remains. Windsor plans a free blood pressure clinic at Fannin National Bank with Lions Club and Heart Association involvement. Plans include chili supper, barbecue fundraisers, and a Song of Deliverance performance at the Tigertown Community Church.
President Ford nominates Anne Armstrong as ambassador to Britain saying his wife Betty pushed for a woman in the post for the first time. Armstrong, 48, would succeed Elliot Richardson if confirmed, with her Texas rancher husband and five children likely to accompany her to London.
A no warning bomb exploded at Gallagher's Do It Yourself Shops in Belfast killing four people and wounding 21. Police suggested the IRA was likely responsible, though a faulty timing mechanism may have caused an accidental detonation. The victims were two men and two women. one man was believed to be planting the device.
A federal judge ruled Alabama prisons cruel and unusual and set strict standards to be met by December 15 for two facilities and within a year for two more. He ordered more guards, dormitory limits, and other reforms, with potential prison closures if compliance fails. The decision faces possible appeals and concerns over funding.
Directors of the Bonham Chamber of Commerce will hold a day long seminar at the TP and L center in Savoy to map plans for 1976. Speakers include Pat Ryan Coy Stamphilt Tom Heath Dr McMillan and Bobby McCraw with topics on industry attraction economic outlook and community improvement. A supper at 7 p.m. will close the event.
Bonham firemen answered two grass fire calls on Tuesday. They first fought a grass fire near the dog pound and later another blaze southeast of Dodd City in the afternoon.

Dunlop resigns as Secretary of Labor after President Ford vetoes the common situs picketing bill Dunlop supported The White House notes his resignation and Ford expresses reluctance to accept but does Dunlop would not name a successor and speculation centers on WJ Usery The affair follows Dunlop's long tenure and his role as a labor management adviser.
Governor Dolph Briscoe says small towns need technical and financial help from private firms foundations and state government. He calls for a partnership approach to share knowledge and resources to address rural development and access to state programs.
The Air Force will enroll eight women in its undergraduate pilot training program this year joining the ranks of female pilots in the Navy and Army. They must meet the same criteria as male applicants and will begin classes in September or October. About 8,800 officers are to receive such training this year.
One new director was added at the annual Bonham State bank meeting. Charles B. Carter of Carter Chevrolet Co. joined to raise directors to 12 as veterans were re elected. Officers and directors were re elected and deposits loans and capital reported growth for 1975 with Phase II completed at a cost of 116000 and Phase III planned.
Representative Dingell contends the Ford administration and the Federal Power Commission failed to enforce gas contracts, risking shortages this winter. He cites widespread contract violations by suppliers and pipelines and notes no producer was taken to court to enforce agreements despite years of curtailments.
The National Weather Service notes fair skies in the Bonham area through Thursday with warmer temperatures. Overnight lows near the low 30s and daytime highs around the upper 50s are forecast as winds shift to the south. Bonham woke to the upper 20s after Tuesday's high in the low 60s and winds return to the south tonight.
Work on Farm to Market Highway 3297 will start Monday funded by W L Einkauf Trucking Co. Inc of Terrell under the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. The project from State Highway 11 west of Randolph to FM 898 east of Ely will include structures grading drainage base and surfacing with traffic routed through construction and flagmen directing motorists safety emphasized by district officials.
