House Fire Destroys C L Estes Home in South Benham
Early morning blaze around 3 o clock gutted the Estes residence on South 3rd Street. Mr Estes, an employee of Steger Milling Co, and his wife and two children escaped in their underwear after the mattress caught fire. The house and contents were a total loss with some insurance on the structure only. Firefighters saved a neighboring house. Community contributions coordinated via 152 D W Hill for the family.
