Bonham mothers led by tri chairs Mrs Bion Reeves Mrs Lewie Morgan and Mrs Ike Morrison plan the annual Mothers March for the March of Dimes. About 100 volunteers will canvass the city starting at 7 pm from the First Christian church with siren start and parade style route. Funds support polio arthritis birth defects and related research plus local relief efforts. Volunteers welcome and asked to leave porchlights on to signal donations. Honey Grove National Guard plans roadblocks Jan 17 to solicit contributions on US 82 SH 34 and SH 100.

Mikoyan Takeoff Delayed by Bomb Threat in Chicago
Soviet Deputy Premier Anastas Mikoyan faced a bomb threat in Chicago that halted his departure aboard a special commercial airliner to San Francisco. After security checks and plane changes at Midway, Mikoyan waved to photographers and proceeded with his 26 hour Chicago visit despite the threat.

Two Suspects Held In Burglary Series
Two suspects in their early 20s were detained in Fannin County jail for questioning over four recent burglaries. Former Honey Grove residents now in Bonham, they were captured by sheriff's deputies and Bonham police after safes were pried open at Konharn lumber yards, a cash register, Honey Grove lumber yard, and a bottling plant in Bonham.

Pvt Ken M Hipp Completes Course at Aberdeen Proving Ground
Pvt Ken M Hipp, son of Mr and Mrs Arnold Hipp of Star, Texas, completed a ten week machinist course at the Army Ordnance School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Trained to operate metal working machinery for casting and forging automotive and armament parts, he entered the Army in June 1958 and received combat training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas after Bonham High School.
