Tragedy in Argentina as DC3 plummets near Zarate

An Argentine Airlines DC3 crashed near Zarate Argentina killing at least 25 of 31 aboard. Police said the plane with 28 passengers and 3 crew plunged to the ground just short of the airstrip and exploded in flames after a fire was reported on board.

Highway 69 at 121 intersection receives safety upgrades

The Highway Department added blinker lights at the U. S. 69 State 121 intersection in Trenton. Large stop signs previously failed to stop all drivers, but the new blinkers and signs are intended to prevent collisions and improve safety.

Johnson urges quick enactment of 11 billion tax cut

President Johnson told the Senate Finance Committee that delaying the tax cut keeps 660 million dollars per month from workers pay. He urged a 14 percent payroll withholding rate immediately after enactment, not waiting until next January. He warned delay would postpone economic stimulus into late winter or spring 1965.
