The Lannius Community Improvement Club will host a chili supper at the community center on Tuesday night March 5. Sponsors Lee Morrow and Clarence Ekins expect many Bonham residents to attend.
Residents of Lannius celebrate a year with city grade water after 34 stockholders funded a $125 share and FHA loaned $32,500. A 1,454 foot well taps Woodbine sand, mains reach 32 of 34 households, and automatic pumps with electric power support operation. Pipe freezing tested crews but they insulated and heated lines. The community considers building a grass fire truck with Agri-Business sponsors Lee Morrow and Clarence Elkins assisting Bonham volunteers.

Senator Edward Kennedy denies a Vermont report that he seized a photographer’s camera and ruined film. Vermont Sunday News photographer Philip Lawson said Kennedy grabbed the camera outside The Lodge at Smugglers Notch and exposed the film to light. Kennedy’s spokesman says the tale is ridiculous and the senator cooperated with the photographer. William Loeb, publisher, called the incident an example of Kennedy arrogance.
