In a contentious exchange over McCarthy’s charges against government officials, the senator sent a letter to Time magazine’sHenry Luce warning of advertiser pressure if the magazine failed to correct alleged false statements. Critics call such threats an infringement on press freedom and warn of chilling effects on reporting.
Medical Surgical Hospital admits and discharges show numerous Bonham Dodd City Houston Ravenna and Bailey patients. Names include Charles Johnson N D Knight Tom Nash O W Leeman and Mrs J Rutherford with varied procedures and recoveries. Several patients will be dismissed today and others rest after major surgery or respiratory treatment.
A birthday luncheon was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morgan 1204 South Fifth Street honoring Mrs. Morgan and her grandson David Lynch Jr. Jonquils decorated the rooms as guests from nearby families gathered including the Colliers Andersons and the Anderson family, Izora Lynch and children, and Cecil Stone's family was unable to attend from Lubbock.
Dismissed list includes Homer Smith Ladonia Sam Bayless Bonham and others from Bonham Trenton and Denison with several spouses and children named. Additional names appear for Ivanhoe Sherman and Honey Grove with several Bonham residents across listed towns.
Donnie L. Ford of Windom earned a place on Paris Junior College honor roll for the third six weeks with all A and B grades. He is a Fannin County student recognized for academic achievement.
Guests included Mr and Mrs Wesley Farmer of Lubbock Mr and Mrs Troy Bartlett and daughter Patricia Diane Miss Jeanine Suitor Charles Hugh Lestie and Mr and Mrs David Miller and children of Bonham.

Linda Louise Pipkin, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Pipkin of Bonham, arrived Friday February 15 at 1 PM weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces at Medical-Surgical Hospital. Danny Joy Stroud, son of Mr and Mrs Billy Stroud of Van Alstyne formerly Bonham, born Saturday at 8:30 AM weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces. Mrs Stroud formerly Miss Betty Rae Lorance of Bonham.

Wolfe City residents to attend a February 26 banquet where W A Christian of Wolfe City will receive a bronze plaque naming him the 1951 Man of the Year. The selection will become an annual Wolfe City event announced by the Wolfe City Businessmen's Luncheon Club.
Mr and Mrs Wesley Farmer entertained with dinner in their home Saturday evening.
