Wichita Falls Feb. 16 Constable J. W. Rowden of Iowa Park was kidnapped robbed and beaten by two men he chased after arresting them. They left him handcuffed in a ditch took his pistol emptied his pockets and burned his car before fleeing.
Arthur Cornelius found two mammoth melons on his land after water melon seeds were tossed over a fence and took root. One melon weighed 43 pounds and the other 42 as reporters described the surprising crop outside Carlsbad New Mexico.

COLLEGE STATION Feb 16 Junior and senior students in A and M College will stage the first annual Little Southwestern Livestock Show in the college pavilion at 8 p m Monday Feb 18. Judging will be based on grooming and presentation, not the animal alone. The show features 26 classes including cattle horses sheep and hogs judged by noted livestock men from Plano Port Worth Caldwell Argyle Tehuacana. Grand champion showman will win handmade cowboy boots. medals and ribbons awarded to winners.
