Fannin County Sheriff Raymond Taylor said seven Mexican aliens were arrested Monday night in Ladonia for illegal entry. He added the men had been working at a Ladonia industry. Five other aliens, including a man a woman and three children, were to be arrested Tuesday morning in Ladonia for illegal entry.
Health officials in Laredo report two more dog rabies cases bringing the total to 46 as authorities ramp up mass vaccination for about 20 000 city dogs and begin stray animal pickups. Nuevo Laredo confirms its second dog rabies case since last Thursday as plans to vaccinate 18 000 to 20 000 dogs and cull about 5 000 animals in 30 days proceed.
Rep Ball Bradley introduces the Oklahoma Draft Dodgers Act to bar draft dodgers from state jobs and allow firing or refusing to hire pardon recipients. The bill would require firing pardon recipients and strip them of unemployment benefits, and may face constitutional questions.
Partly cloudy conditions continue tonight with a warming trend. Lows dip into the lower 30s tonight and the high on Wednesday climbs into the lower 60s. Gusty southerly winds reach 10 to 30 mph through the period.

A nine member jury began hearing Alfred Ray Bradshaw charged with burglary of WT May Pharmacy on the night of June 7 1975. Witnesses Mike Bankston and Jeff Ellis testified detailing a pursuit and arrest at the scene. Bankston identified Bradshaw and described taking a pistol after a struggle and handcuffing him with Ellis aiding the arrest en route to a hospital. Ellis testified a second man fled the scene and helped identify evidence including a broken glass display. The trial also heard selection for Linda Denson aggravated assault case with jury to resume Wednesday.
The Texas Senate State Affairs Committee approved the Sunset bill 9-2 to abolish or renew agencies every six years, aiming to cut red tape and unresponsive bureaucracy. Two lawmakers filed resolutions to recall the Equal Rights Amendment ratification, warning of potential changes in marriage and public facilities. The ERA proposal would go to voters in November 1978 if the House votes two thirds in favor.
West coast law agencies warn officers and drug users to beware of Lance a white powder sold as heroin or cocaine but actually a tear gas dilutant from CSCN gas. Customs and U S marshal service labs confirm Lance is a tear gas derivative and not a nerve gas, with reports of seizures in Texas Colorado Washington and Oregon. Officers are told to halt bags bearing the Lance description and send them to labs.
Elton John Loretta Lynn Stevie Wonder and Johnny Cash lead the fourth annual American Music Awards with multiple wins. Lynn and Conway Twitty win top country honors while Aretha Franklin Earth Wind and Fire and Lou Rawls take key awards. The ceremony aired nationally from Santa Monica.

HEW said funds may be diverted to help poor families with heating costs. Weather pickups include heavy snow from New York to the South with record drifts and energy saving work weeks in Alabama.
Bonham Gibson's store sold to Walmart of Bentonville Arkansas with Mid-South Investment Co Longview planning a shopping center complex including a Brookshire grocery. Construction to begin soon with Walmart taking over management and expansion by June. Gibson's owner may relocate to Allen. Gibson Pharmacy to move location by late May. pharmacy remains part of True to Pharmacy chain.
