Sherman January 29 Dallas selected as spring district conference city for the Second District Federation of Women’s Clubs with dates set April 14 and 15. Chicago January 29 The National Safety Council reported a record 38500 motor vehicle accident deaths in 1936. The figure tops 37000 in 1935 and notes disasters and heat and floods pushed total accident deaths from all causes to 111000, exceeding 1934’s 101139.
