The R D Wheeler home at 207 Glen Oaks Road won first prize for best Christmas lighting from the Trowel and Error Garden Club, earning $35. Second went to the Bob Biggers family at 1901 Nancy Lea for $25, with Poly Bradford at 1210 Park Ave taking $15 or $815 for decor prizes noted. W R Barnett at 700 West Tenth and Joe Neely at 126 Carpenter Loop won $15 and $16 respectively for best decorated doors.

Nativity scene with live animals at Bonham church

Transfusion Question Followed Baby to Dallas
Richard and Kathleen Modigill traveled from Michigan to Dallas for the birth of a baby with a blood disorder and Jehovah's Witness beliefs against transfusions. The Caesarean delivery occurred at East Town Osteopathic Hospital. the baby died Sunday. Attending doctor Dr. W. E. Winslow defended the parents right to refuse transfusion, while city councilman Dr. John Walton criticized how the case was handled and noted staff outrage.
