State Ready to Appeal After Second Court Setback

The state plans another appeal after a second court setback in its bid to stop gas flaring in oil fields. In Flour Bluff, operators won a permanent injunction halting enforcement of a nearby railroad emission order by Judge Charles Betts in the 25th District. A similar injunction favored Heystr field last week, with a Supreme Court review set for June 12. Betts also prepares a third injunction request for Tijena Canales Bluecher field in Kimber and Jim Wells counties due to be heard tomorrow.
