The Bonham and Honey Grove Thanksgiving gridiron classic is canceled as a post season game under the Interscholastic League ruling. Refunds will be issued to advance ticket holders. officials say the rule was designed to curb extended seasons.

A Bonham High school Home Economics plan selects a Queen Cotton to reign over the cotton car nival Tuesday. The Queen will be crowned by Santa Claus after a 2:50 pm parade with duchesses from neighboring districts and local bands. A cotton ball follows in Bond Gym.
The October term grand jury in Fannin County completed its two day session issuing 24 indictments all on the first sitting. The panel commended law enforcement and appealed to citizens to assist agencies. The report named 12 jurors and thanked Sheriff’s department constables and riding patrols for aid.
The Purple Warriors saw their season cut short by a Texas Interscholastic League rule banning high school football after December 1 except for state playoffs. Hollywood December six Joe Brown a wide mouthed film comedian was badly injured today in a high speed auto collision. He was taken to a California hospital in critical condition. Police say Browns car collided with another vehicle traveling end over end 275 feet and crashed down a 40 foot embankment. Charlie KB Weaver 65 of Morton driver of the other car suffered minor injuries.
Alfred Landreth four years old disappeared Sunday near Antiaars Oklahoma. He wandered about six miles from his father J F Landreth’s ranch in the CoMounteins area and became entangled in a barbed wire fence while attempting to crawl over. He was found head down. rescuers believed he had died five to six hours earlier.
