Fannin County Bar members will host Law Day on Tuesday morning at Benham High School with the public invited. The program centers on a 22 minute color film The Making of the Constitution from the Gam Rayburn Library film library. The film portrays the early patriots behind the U.S. Constitution.
The Telephone Community Improvement club raised 1135 dollars from a box supper in the school gym with over 100 attendees from Telephone Bonham Honey Grove and nearby areas. The event featured tasty community cooking and even a 25 grocery certificate hidden in a potato. A Law Day USA film at 8 30 p m will be shown at the high school for history and government classes.
Leonard high school announces top honors for the 1962 graduating class. Valedictorian Doris Flanagan led with 96.2 average. Linda Berry 94.84 as tutorian. Boys high honor goes to Tommy Ensminger with 90.21.

Keith Gudgel and Steve Williams from Allen's Point won senior beef demonstrations and state trip. Larry Briscoe and David Caylor of Mulberry won forestry. Junior teams Carolyn Knowles and Sherrill Shipman of Allen's Point won a blue ribbon in safety. four more juniors earned red ribbons and one a white. Red ribbons went to Ann Caylor and Mary Whitlock?Paulette Williams. Beth Higdon and Sandra Smith. Wilson Howell and Ronnie Odom. White ribbon to Phyllis Epperson and Elaine Nichols in poultry utilization.
Texas attorney general hopeful Tom James visited Bonham Saturday afternoon meeting voters around the square and in the business district. James, a Dallas legislator and former vice chair of the racket busting House General Investigating Committee, led investigations in Amarillo Beaumont and Port Arthur.

Two paralytic polio cases were reported in Texas in the past week, the State Department of Health said today. The year’s total rose to 12 paralytic cases and two non paralytic cases, compared with eight total cases at the same time last year.
Bonham Lions club members will sell light bulbs over three nights Wednesday Thursday and Friday May 24 in a house to house campaign. Packages contain eight bulbs with wattage mix four 100 watt two 70 watt and two 6 watt sold during the sales drive with delivery later if needed.
