John E Meade 49 a noted Bonham leader in school banking and civic life died Friday night April 25 1969 of an apparent heart attack found dead in his office at Bonham Savings and Loan association where he was executive vice president Funeral services set for 3 30 Sunday at First Baptist church with Rev William H Cheatham and Rev Mac Hargrove officiating Burial will be in Willow Wild under Wise Funeral home active pallbearers include Edward Southerland Jack Richardson Reid Spivy Jr Dr L C Biggers Ike Newby Clyde Crittenden Joe Campbell and John Arledge honorary pallbearers are officers and directors of the Bonham Savings and Loan Association officers and directors of the First National Bank and Bonham independent school district board members He had served on the Bonham ISD board since 1948 and as secretary and vice president He was immediate past president of the Texas Association of School Boards and held various posts in school and bank groups He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former Kiwanis and Chamber leader He was born in Bonham November 10 1919 and survived by his wife Eloise a son Sam a daughter Susan his mother and a sister with numerous other local affiliations noted
