Durant Oklahoma April 24 Fire destroyed three two story brick buildings with their entire stock of goods threatening a whole block in the heart of Durant. Loss placed at fifty thousand dollars. Origin unknown started in the Cook building second story sweeping Downing and Birchfield rapidly. Firemen saved the Commercial National Bank and Corner Drug Store. Lower floors housed J S Streets shoe shop Wilcox barber shop Durant Bakery Combs Restaurant. upper floor used as offices.

A cyclone near Mountin Creek five miles north of Enus killed Joe Eagle and injured his wife and nine year old daughter. Mrs. Eagleston suffered a broken arm while the daughter was struck by debris. The injured were to be taken to Cleburne for treatment as windmills and barns were toppled.
