County auditor Frank Wright reports 200000 from the March 25 road bond sale deposited in the First National Bank of Bonham as the county begins work on a connected paved road system. Bonds sold at 2 percent interest with a $375.73 premium. J A Pondram and Co. bought 150000, with 50000 to the Bonham bank. Work to start within 30 days under engineer H M Scott. WPA grant supports the project alongside a bond issue approved March 5.

House Approves Reduction in State College Funds
The Texas House approved a modest cut in appropriations for state colleges for 1939 41.
