Fort Worth Couple Kidnapped and Beaten Near Walnut Springs
A. L. Patillo and Miss Audrey Caviness of Fort Worth were abducted by two men near Seminary Hill and driven to a point five miles from Walnut Springs where they were beaten with a rock. Patillo reported head wounds after escaping to an oil station. Caviness was found at the rock site as a search party resumed.

Bold Bad Bandits Loot Oklahoma Bank at Opening
Two young bandits looted the First National Bank in Tonkawa Oklahoma shortly after opening today and escaped with about $15,000. Ralph Emerson assistant cashier and mother employee were the only others in the bank. The robbers took till cash bonds and currency from the safe and forced five customers into the vault before locking it and escaping in a coupe.

Lamesa Jail Terms For Alleged Jake Joints Owners
April 23. Two owners of alleged jake joints in Lamesa were sentenced to the State penitentiary after grand jury investigations. Portland man rescues self after auto plunges from pier

Hail Storm Ravages McAllen Area Causing Heavy Damage
A severe hailstorm struck McAllen and surrounding Rio Grande Valley towns late Thursday, damaging tomatoes and corn. The storm cut a four mile wide swath, with Pharr and Mission nearby. Businesses reported extensive losses, including a large department store with damages near 50 000 dollars and roof destruction at a McAllen building. Police reported downed wires and two feet of hail in some areas. A Kansas car crash killed one person and injured several others.
