The Bonhi Sweepstakes Band earned two First Division ratings at Ennis UIL contests and a prior marching rating, while L. H. Rather Kang also posted top ratings in junior high UIL events. Congratulations to students and directors for long hours of hard work since last August.
No injuries reported as a car and a truck collided in the 00 block of Willow Street Thursday afternoon. Assistant Chief Jay Duckworth and Officer Leon Harper identified Dr. Robert William Hill as the truck driver and Herman Curtis Howell as the car driver.
Franklin George Robinson as Benham of Rt. 1 suffered unspecified injuries in a noon Friday one car accident at North Center and Seventh streets. Police said he was driving when the vehicle left the road and struck a sign, with rescue and emergency responders on scene.
