San Jacinto Day marked in Texas with U S history and Aggie Muster planned in Fannin county at 7 p m at the Steakout. Notes include a Kansas reader seeking Johnny Anderson descendants in Fannin and several local happenings from garage sales to rodeo and school lunch mixups.

Fannin county ranchers will tour Oklahoma and Arkansas pastures woodlands and farms by chartered bus April 29 and 30. Extension Agent Wayne Cranfill urges interested parties to contact him to join the trip with stops at Valliant Weyerhauser plant Wright City Kerr Foundation Poteau Wister Altus Wiederkehr Winery and the Hope Experiment Station.
The Bonham school board meets Monday at 7 pm in the administration building to review teaching staff performance and future action. Ray Ashlock will be seated on the board replacing Dr. Larry Lawrence, Glenn Daniel starts a second term, and officers will be elected. The board will discuss staffing vacancies and contract approvals, bonuses for bus drivers and lunchroom workers, plus reports on the TASB workshop, lunchroom supervisor, and tax assessor-collector.
Calvin Felts president of the Peanut Growers Association announced a meeting of the Fannin County Producers Association at the Telephone Community Center at 7 30 p m Tuesday April 27 Wayne Eaves Texas Peanut Producers Association will speak giving an analysis of proposed legislation and its impact on growers all producers and local landowners are urged to attend peanuts being a major money crop.
Aggie exes prepare for the annual Muster Wednesday night at the Steakout, starting at 7 p.m. Joe Scasta, chairman, notes the event dates to 1908 with Musters held globally and in wartime foxholes, ships, and hospitals.

Rising tides driven by 40 mph winds forced evacuations along Galveston Bay in Baytown and Kemah. Authorities said up to 25 Brownwood homes may be affected as water covers low-lying roads and a levee protecting Sylvan Beach shows strain.
Twelve criminal cases involving 11 defendants were scheduled for trial the week of April 26 in Sixth District Court before Judge Henry Braswell. The docket includes four driving while intoxicated cases, four burglary cases, two theft cases, and one each of escape from a penal institution and rape of a child. Alfred Ray Bradshaw is the escape defendant. Defendants include James Clifton Jones, Duke Mosely, Fred Warner Owens, Elmer Lee Jones, Kathy Lee McEwin, Rickey Don Eachert, Jimmy Ray Hicks, Sam Good, James Griffin, Floyd Baty, and others. A petit jury was summoned for the week. Civil cases also noted. Carrier of the Week honors go to Eric Cole and Robert Ingram for the week ending April 16.
