Viet Cong terrorists killed eight pro government villagers in a Dai Nang town as Saigon faces political turmoil. Publisher Chu Van Binh of Sung newspaper was shot four times and later died after an attack linked to the crisis, echoing a prior editor assassination.
A Vietnamese newspaper run by Binh shows independent socialist leanings and criticizes Buddhists as anti-government, targeting Thich Thien Minh and Thich Tri Quang.
