The Ellis Clark residence in Leonard suffered heavy damage when a blaze broke out Wednesday afternoon. With a local truck out of service, a pumper from Bonham assisted in confining the fire to the single structure amid fears of a wider residential threat.
Washington April 15 U P reports the House un American activities committee voted unanimously to back a bill requiring the communist party and its members to register with the justice department. The measure would impose up to ten years in jail for top officials who fail to register or break with Moscow.

Funeral services for William M. Robertson 81 who died Monday at Delson hospital were set for Friday at 2 PM at Wee Funeral Home. Rev. G H Mood Dr B F Milam and Rev Oliver Rowe to officiate. Burial in Willow Wald. Survived by wife two sons two daughters two brothers eight grandchildren eight great grandchildren and other relatives.
