Seven Die in Blaze at Pick Carter Hotel in Cleveland
A downtown hotel fire in Cleveland killed seven people and injured eight on Tuesday night. Wives and infant daughters of two performers in the road company of Hair were among the dead. The 52 year old Pick Carter Hotel, remodeled five years ago at a cost over one million, suffered damage estimated over one hundred thousand by fire officials. Thirteen Hair touring company members were staying there with families. about 200 guests resided in the 12 story, 600 room hotel.
