Buddhists accuse the United States of backing dictatorial regimes in Vietnam for nine years and warn that continued support for Premier Nguyen Cao Ky could trigger civil war. They telegram US Ambassador Lodge urging Johnson to withdraw aid immediately.

Denver Post reports an armed Minutemen group staging pretend guerrilla actions in the Colorado mountains. Members stalk surround and kill imagined Communists, with some described as potentially dangerous. A Morrison restaurant owner saw two men firing machine guns. Federal agents note a $200 tax on fully automatic weapons and legal purchase only through authorized dealers.
About 20 000 coal miners walk out in Pennsylvania West Virginia Ohio Kansas and Kentucky in a wildcat action not officially sanctioned by the United Mine Workers but reportedly supported by UMW President W A Boyle. The stoppage targets the soft coal industry amid stalled talks with the Coal Operators Association and Peabody Co. potential spread threatens steel mills and overall coal supply.
The post office warns taxpayers to mail 1965 income tax returns by 7 pm for an April 15 postmark. Lowell Shuler, on behalf of Postmaster Lee Musrow, says any mail after 7 pm will be postmarked the next day.
In Saigon a critical shortage of bombs has sharply reduced American bombing in South Vietnam. U S military leaders ordered emergency targets only as supply lines strain. Payloads dropped by Da Nang forces fell from 750 to about 250 pounds due to dock delays and port overloads.
Incendiarism is classified as a felony with penalties from 300 to 2000 dollars and or imprisonment up to five years in the Texas penitentiary.
Severe storms swept parts of Northeast Texas with 80 mph winds and tornadoes damaging Olney and Jermyn areas. Gainesville suffered widespread destruction including a laundry and radio station along with power outages and downed lines. Boat docks at Lake Texoma faced heavy damage as winds scattered vessels. temperatures spiked in West Texas with Record warmth in Lubbock Presidio and San Angelo.
A Sunday night squall swept across North Texas with little rainfall but strong winds. In Bonham and nearby areas trees were damaged with limbs and leaves torn, dust whipped up, and items such as gas and lawn chairs toppled as debris filled the air. Local rainfall remained minimal.

About 200 Hells Angels members and their companions camped Easter weekend at Oso Flaco Lake in San Luis Obispo County. Deputies and state agents escorted the group into and out of the area while patrolling the site. Several arrests were made on minor charges and 19 motorcycles were impounded with no major incidents reported.
