Death of Jonn Lowry Ware Ends Local Leader Era
Jonn Lowry Ware died in Dallas at 3:08 after a two month illness. Services were held at Willow Wild cemetery following arrival of his body. Ware, born February 21 1844 in Alabama, was a longtime merchant in Bonham Texas and a Confederate veteran. The city council met in special session and ordered extensive paving and sidewalk work, including streets on East Fifth Main Center and West Fourth, with a plan to extend walks toward Willow Wild cemetery.
