Bonham voters may cast ballots for alderman in any ward. The city votes by wards but positions are open to all eligible voters from any area. Also tonight the Chamber of Commerce banquet at 7 30 pm in the high school cafeteria.
The UT education administration chair allegedly moved about 6000 dollars in federal money to cover a fictitious educational conference. Texas Parks and Wildlife announced deer relocation across three Southeast Texas counties with 250 white tailed deer moved from Victoria and Refugio to Nacogdoches Henderson and Matagorda counties in early year.
Fair and warmer expected Friday with a minimum in the lower 90s and a maximum in the lower 80s. Gusty southerly winds are forecast for the day.
Bonham voters will choose three city aldermen and two school board trustees on Saturday in a joint election held at separate polling sites. Incumbent Billy Ross Sanderson faces Clyde Bono in Ward 2, with other aldermen and school candidates listed. English and Spanish ballots align with state rules. polling hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in city hall and Woterans School for the trustee race.

Bonham students will walk Saturday starting 8 am from the Bonhi parking lot aiming to cover 20 miles. Each walker seeks sponsors paying at least 10 cents per mile to raise funds for the Mental Health Retardation Association.
Denver police traced a cache of 2300 dollars found by 13 year old Max Weber and friend Jimmy Becker along a railroad track to determine if tied to a holdup. Weber hopes for a small reward and to see the rightful owner get their money back.
Election judge T Clark cites Texas law requiring voters who move within the county to transfer registration to the new precinct at least 30 days before the election. The rule applies to Bonham residents and affects city, school, primaries on May 1 and June 1, and a June 19 Congressional election. A voter moving to a new county must reregister at least 30 days before voting.
The National Weather Service forecasts a clear to partly sunny Friday in Bonham with low 50s in the morning and low 80s in the afternoon. Gusty southerly winds will bring clouds from the south and keep the warming trend through the weekend after a 37 degree low and 70 degree high earlier.

AUSTIN Tex UPI The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee said his panel will draft a revision of natural gas tax laws in anticipation of a possible special session before Sept 1 Gov Dolph Briscoe may call. Rep Joe Wyatt said they can craft proposals to reduce some taxes and shift more taxes to out of state consumers. He noted taxes could rise energy bills by more than 6385 million over the next two years and reported talks with Briscoe about restructuring the tax to relieve Texas consumers.
The New Jersey Supreme Court ruled 7-0 that the respirator keeping 22 year old Karen Ann Quinlan alive can be turned off. The decision, written by Chief Justice Richard Hughes, finds no reasonable recovery and says death would be natural expiration, not homicide.
Bids on the renovation of the Fannin County Jail will be opened at 1:30 p.m. on May 13. County commissioners in a special session approved plans by architect Fred Buford, with work mainly on the second floor for inmate housing and substantial first floor improvements.
