Christmas carol convoy to raise funds for Hospital
In Bombala the familiar carols will be sung by a group arranged by Sister Connolly with Mr Harry Helmers providing the lorry to transport musicians and singers to town districts. Collectors Will Platts and Barry Dawson will gather funds for the Hospital. The carollers plan to begin near the Soldiers Memorial about 9 20 p.m. Two Bega writers oppose prioritising the small Bemboka hydro electric scheme over the Snowy River Scheme. The SRD League will hold a general meeting in Bega to discuss the SRD Scheme with local officials invited. The movement needs support from major population centres to gain political traction.
