Born November 1 1834 in Hocking County Ohio he came to Wells County with his parents in 1836. He married Sarah E Hasenphirlough October 13 1861 and had five children. He lived on a farm before moving to town nine years ago and sold farm implements. Survived by wife two sons three daughters three grandchildren and brothers Joseph W Henry G and Rufus. Remains moved to family farm south of town.

The harness was new breast harness with pad and the buggy had a four bowed top with end springs. The check rein hook was broken.
