Narrow escape as hay pole nearly hits farmer and horse
Eda Derr of east of the city narrowly escaped injury when a hay load brushed a telephone pole, which then snapped and struck his horse. The pole, old and rotted at its base, would have struck Derr if it had fallen two inches to the right. the incident involved the Tudor packing house line once used by Bell Telephone.

The Sunday train remains at 10 48 AM to 6 47 PM with the new 75 cent round trip rate. Interurban competition has reduced Sunday business.
