Elizabeth Stroup Carpenter, born September 3 16828 in Highland County Ohio, moved to Huntington County Indiana at age eleven, married George Washington Carpenter in May 1848, died April 7 1903 at age 75 years 7 months 3 days at her son Daniel Carpenter’s home in Jackson township. Survived by sons John Carpenter and Daniel Carpenter and daughter Mrs A W Smith. She joined the Methodist church early, later affiliating with the Christian church in 1862.
