Norfolk and Western Links Winston-Salem to Atlantic Coast Line
Norfolk and Western plans a new 80 mile connection between Winston-Salem and Wadesboro to join the Atlantic Coast Line. Construction could start soon with about 18 months of work and funding from ACL and NWR. The project aims to make Winston-Salem a major junction with Chicago and Charleston via Cheraw and Charleston.
