Woman admits fatal shooting in Wyoming County
A 40 year old Wyoming County woman confessed to the Saturday night killing of 53 year old John M Prunty in the Barker's Ridge area. The Dorman area suspect claimed Prunty drew a rifle prompting the shooting with a .38 pistol. A preliminary hearing for Lucy May Dorman is set for this afternoon in Pineville or Barker's Ridge. Prunty, a Rocky Mount Virginia native, worked for Mays and Cole Coal in Arista and is survived by a daughter and two sisters. Funeral services are Wednesday at 2 pm at the Gospel Tabernacle United Holiness Church Keystone with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Bennett Funeral Home of Northfork handling arrangements.
