Retired Conductor Captain Croy Dies in Virginia
Captain Samuel KB Cros Croy, 60, a retired conductor of the Norfolk and Western railway, died at 5 40 p m Tuesday at his Blue Stone home in Tazewell county from pneumonia after years of ill health. Funeral Thursday at 2 00 p m at First Christian church with burial in Walnut Grove cemetery. Survived by widow Mary Loven and six children B F J G H O D B Croy Jr Mrs O K Harvey and Mildred Cros. He served forty years on the Pocahontas division and Clinch Valley district and belonged to several fraternal and railway groups.

Reno Divorce Degree Banned in California
Teno Nevada September 29 The setting aside of a Reno divorce decree in Los Angeles today is seen as bearing on California’s test of the divorce granted recently to Jack Dempsey. Judge Sproul held that a person who comes to Nevada to obtain a divorce to evade California laws is guilty of fraud. Estelle Taylor, former wife of Dempsey, has refused to recognize the Reno decree and plans to seek a decree in Los Angeles. Dempsey’s counsel indicate they will contest Taylor’s case if it goes to trial.
