Man Struck By Car Shows Improvement In St Luke Friday
Ernest Lucas 41 of Bassett Virginia remained in good condition at St Luke's Hospital after a Thursday night collision near Bluewell. He suffered a cerebral concussion and a fractured left leg. Fletcher Streeter of Pocahontas Virginia drove the vehicle. no charges filed and he is directed to the Bluefield City Police Station at 10 a m today.

Miss Jean Bailey cut the ribbon at the entrance of the State Fair grounds in Richmond to open the 1954 Virginia State Fair.Officials including Gov. Stanley's secretary and fair president S. H. Bemiss looked on as Armed Services Day featured the 546th Air Force Band from Langley AFB.
