Section A winner Seyler topped with 30 1 3 match points while J H Wright was runner up. Section B saw C M Flynn crash 44 match points to top the field with Harold Black second. The second round is set for next Monday September 19 at 8 pm reservations via B D Lennett.

Mrs. R. O. Rogers and Mrs. J. J. Kabler won the Ladies day event at Bluefield Country Club yesterday. Rogers tied for nine holes with 20, Kabler shot 91, and both posted 88 for eighteen holes, demonstrating the value of solid putting. Hostesses Mia. Lewis Tiernsy and Mrs. G. T. St. Clair, Jr. gave golf balls to the victors.

Fair view PTA Opens Term With New President at Meeting
Mrs Alonzo McCue presided as Fair view Parent-Teacher Association held its first term meeting at Fair view school Tuesday afternoon at 3. After a brief business session Mrs McCue turned the meeting over to Mrs Marshall Sinclair who outlined the year’s aims and urged mutual understanding between parents and teachers. A report on the summer round up noted twelve children vaccinated for smallpox and Miss Blanche Toney’s room had the best attendance while Miss Kathryn Smooth’s room led Junior High. An informal tea followed to foster better acquainting of parents and teachers.
